Chas (Brown bread) & Dave!
Not my bag but i reckon theres a few fans on here.

'It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our very own Chas Hodges.

Despite receiving successful treatment for oesophageal cancer recently, Chas suffered organ failure and passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday September 22nd.
We would like to thank our fans for their fantastic support and goodwill at this difficult time.'

Heard a lot of his interviews with Danny Baker over the years. There was far more to him than the stuff he became famous for in the 80's. Interesting bloke and someone who lived for playing and making music.

RIP.

Re: Chas (Brown bread) & Dave!
I think the official line up was:-

Chas - pianna + vocals
Dave - bass + vocals
Mystery bald bloke with hat and no name - drums

Could be wrong, that's my guess anyway

Saw them support Status Quo once, along with Thin Lizzy. Quo fans loved them.

Very talented musician. Was in The Outlaws in the 60s as a bassist and also played backing Jerry Lee Lewis as a bassist. Claimed he learned how to play pianer just by watching Lewis. Bollocks, but he told good tales.

Farewell "rockney" geezer. RIP.

(Even "and" is dead. Just Dave now. Guess he can always play a set of repeats.)

I saw them play in the British Queen in Wanstead of all places. They were brilliant that night.
